Public brief

Blocnet whitepaper

The short version of what Blocnet is, why it exists and how value moves through it.

Problem

Crypto projects are called once on social channels and then abandoned. Nobody is obliged to report what happened next, so members track every KYC window, mining deadline, snapshot and claim themselves, and miss some of them.

Mechanism

A hunter posts a project, called a gem, and is then obliged to keep it updated through its whole lifecycle. Each gem has exactly one owner. Members follow the gems they care about and are notified when an update needs them. A hunter's standing rests on reliability: coverage of their gems and how often they post. Reports from members and moderation keep that honest.

Economy

BNP (Blocnet Points) is mined in the app on a daily 24-hour cycle. Only 30,000,000 BNP can ever be mined. Every hour the network releases a fixed pool, shared by mining power, and the pool halves every year for 8 years. See the economy page for live numbers.

BNT is planned for BNB Smart Chain and is intended to be what members tip hunters with. BNP is planned to convert 1 BNP = 1 BNT for verified members, 25% at launch and the rest monthly over 9 months; final terms are set at mainnet. No price or listing date is set in this brief.

  • Community mining: 30% (Mined as BNP over 8 eras, converted 1:1)
  • Ecosystem & treasury: 18% (48 months, released linearly)
  • Team & founders: 15% (12-month cliff, then 36 months linear)
  • Liquidity & listings: 12% (At launch)
  • Community rewards: 10% (Quests, hunter rewards, events, grants; reported publicly)
  • Early backers & grant partners: 10% (6-month cliff, then 24 months linear)
  • Airdrops & marketing: 5% (Campaigns, reported publicly)

Tips are how value flows back: a member who makes money on a gem tips the hunter who kept them informed.
